Pet Refuge
“I stayed on for many, many years, being psychologically mistreated, humiliated and forced into submission because there was nowhere for my children, my dog and me to go and be safe. I chose to stay because I could not leave them behind and they were all used as leverage against me. No women’s refuges were able to keep us together and we needed each other to cope. Our dog was precious. If only there had been a Pet Refuge, but better late than never.
