Local charity organisations across New Zealand deserve to be recognised, celebrated and supported for the work they do in creating a better future for pets and people in our local communities.
The Petstock Foundation’s Hometown Heroes campaign does just that, by raising funds, shining a light on and honouring the amazing work they do for people and pets in need.
Throughout September you can support our Heroes by:
- Purchasing a participating product

Our Heroes' Success Stories
Maui’s Journey
Last year the Saving Hope Foundation helped save newborn pups found in a bin by Liz, a waste truck driver. Despite a tough fight, only four—Missy, Milo, Maui, and Moana (now Luna)—survived and are now celebrating their first birthdays with their forever families.
Steve and Sally
Steve credits his guide dog, Sally, with transforming his life and giving him newfound confidence. Having been supported by Blind Low Vision NZ for over 22 years, Steve emphasizes how Sally's companionship and the organisation's resources have been life-changing, offering him hope and a strong sense of community.
Clyde’s Story
After his owner faced housing difficulties and needed to find a new rental, Clyde arrived at Pet Refuge extremely shy and timid. With patience, coaxing with treats, and a gentle approach, Clyde gradually adjusted, and his transformation has been remarkable.
