"Most people view their pets as part of the whānau. When there isn’t enough pet food,
owners often share or sacrifice their own meals to ensure their pets are fed as they do with
their children."

Help us reach our goal

No one should have to choose between feeding themselves or their pet. But when money is tight and food is scarce, some feel they have no choice but to give their pets up.
That’s why the Petstock Foundation is raising funds to donate to New Zealand Food Network, helping to provide meals for pets in need. NZFN rescues quality food from going to landfill and gets it to communities who need it most. By partnering with producers, manufacturers and wholesalers, it collects and distributes surplus and donated supplies to food hubs and charities across the country.
Together, we can help keep pets where they belong, at home with the people who love them.
"Pets provide companionship, stability, and mental health benefits—especially for people living alone or those struggling with illness or trauma. Without support with pet food, pet owners may be forced to give up their animals, try to rehome them, or unintentionally neglect their needs."

"For many people facing hardship, their pets have been by their side for years. These animals are companions, protectors, and a source of emotional support. When we help feed a pet, we’re helping a person too. It’s about dignity, compassion, and keeping families together.
