Description
Large, noble and bear-like, the Maremma Sheepdog has a dense undercoat, a long thick slightly wavy overcoat, and normally comes in white with other pale markings.
Characteristics
Friendly, loyal, affectionate yet independent, the Maremma is an excellent watchdog and guard dog. Be firm when training it because it likes its independence.
Health problems
This breed is generally healthy.
Exercise
This dog needs a lot of space so ensure it receives regular mental and physical exercise. If not, it will get restless and disobedient.
Grooming
Regularly brush the coat, particularly when it's shedding.
Living Environment
The Maremma needs a lot of space so apartment life is not recommended. It doesn't like very hot weather.
